Where dreams lie...TERRORISM IN AMERICA DOES HAPPEN....

Recently a rookie police officer died from a stabbing, committed by a young man who didnt seem to have a bad criminal history. The young man expressed very clearly that he did not want to go to jail and so deftly managed his escape which ended in his own death and the wounding of other police officers.  Last year, a police officers father and son was killed during a home invasion.

When I became single (tragically widowed) my kids who had just became teenagers became unable to go to school, started using alcohol and drugs and roaming the streets. I was terrorized by seeing my own kids in handcuffs, coming home from the store to find a note that police had taken them away, was directly threatened that DHR would take them and in a fearful position with an officer in my house who was very threatening and intimidating. I seen people I knew getting put in jail, friends and young people who my kids grew up with, and so feared going to jail myself.

Strickland Youth Center became my oasis of resources to help me, but by then any appearance of police, such as police cars, sirens, anything that looked like a "cop" would terrify me to the point i became unable to leave my house. I had even packed my clothes into suitcases as I was able to get the house cleaned up from years of neglect.( The suitcases are still packed.) One of my kids made great progress in getting life back on track; finished school, got a job and a car and still with the same person she started dating over 3 years ago. The other one is in State School recovering really well. In the mean time, my house was raided by police of all kinds several times, but at least the drug and stealing activities that had gotten beyond my control were ended.  The family dog was removed and I am awaiting charges of animal abuse, neglect and cruelty from having to keep him outside in a pen and not able to afford feeding him. Now a big Rottweiler costs a lot to feed and is some work cleaning up after and bathing but it had a big bark was was leash trained. He never had to actually "attack" anyone.

All of this put me in total distress. I couldnt sleep, I became very ill and checked out places like Alta Vista and the Salvation Army because everything was getting to be a strain on my family and friends. Then I made big changes. I am legally blind and unable to drive a car but I used to could ride a bike so when I got a bike together, it took a long time to recover into bike riding but I did. I also learned non-violent self defense because now I am in constant danger of being attacked or killed by maybe someone who would blame me for them going to jail. My house has been broken into and recently my food stamp card and credit cards had been stolen. I dont trust anyone anymore.

But at least Mobile's police force is taking steps to help curb crime such as day time curfew for school hours and a nightly curfew to keep young people off the streets, street sweeps and neighborhood patrol. There are people who would like to say "the cops are crooked" and so on. I'm sure there are some cops who may be that way, I'm yet to get the bad end of that.

From what I read online Mobile Metro jail has it good and bad such as hard criminals but also resources to help people finish their education and learn job skills. In the past years with a comp;uter provided by the state, I learned how to make money online, had to study a lot of programs and definitely learn how to get to the point where I can just pick up my computer, relocate and keep on working....DIY Printing and Online Advertising at TechDesignz Creations by YOU, where YOU are the master of promoting your business or organization.
